Parish Religious Education Program/PREP

The Parish Religious Education Program is dedicated to the religious instruction and Christian formation of children in grades 1 through 6 who attend public or private, non-catholic schools.  Children grow in their faith and knowledge of Catholic beliefs and practices, as well as prepare for reception of sacraments.

Religious education sessions are held during the school year on:

Sunday morning: 9:15 to 10:40 AM--Levels 1 through 6.

(allows families to attend 8:00 AM or 11:00 AM Mass together)

Monday evening:  6:15 to 7:45 PM--Levels 1 through 6.  We also offer "catch up" classes on Monday evenings for students who are Grade 3 and older, but have had no previous religious education.

For additional information, or to register a child, please call the Religious Education Office at

215-357-3445 (instruction for adults is also available.)

SAFE ENVIRONMENT

All adult volunteers who work in PREP must comply with the Archdiocesan policy for the protection of children and youth.  They must obtain Criminal Background Checks,  Child Abuse Clearances, plus attend a Protecting God's Children session, mandated reporter training and education on appropriate, proper use of technology.

A Safe Touch lesson is presented to all PREP students each year.  Please see the calendar for exact dates.  If you decide to opt your child out of this lesson, you are asked to view the lesson for your child's grade online and then submit your request in writing two weeks prior to the presentation. An alternate activity will be planned for your child.  The link to the Office for Child and Youth Protection is http://childyouthprotection.org/.   This website outlines all the guidelines for volunteers, lessons for children, and additional resources for parents.
